Administered by the UF Lastinger Center for Learning, the Florida Tutoring Advantage is the state’s newest tutoring program that will equip public school districts, tutors and families with resources and skills to have significant and lasting impact on learners across the state.

Florida Tutoring Advantage professional learning courses provide administrators and tutors with knowledge and skills designed to enhance the effectiveness of tutoring programs. With content focused on K-5 tutoring in reading and mathematics, participants will build a foundation of effective tutoring practices and improve student outcomes.

Important Course Information

Florida Tutoring Advantage professional learning equips administrators and tutors with knowledge and skills needed to strengthen tutoring programs and improve student outcomes. With a focus on K-5 reading and mathematics, participants will develop a strong foundation in evidence-based tutoring practices to support student success.

Course 1: Tutoring Foundations is open to everyone who would like to learn more about tutoring in Florida. This course is required for all tutors associated with the Florida Tutoring Advantage. This course is open for registration.

Course 2: Building an Effective Tutoring Program is designed for education leaders and staff seeking to develop and implement a high-quality tutoring program aligned with the requirements of the Florida Tutoring Advantage. This course is open for registration.

Course 3: Advanced Tutoring in Mathematics is an advanced course designed specifically for mathematics tutors and will be required for all math tutors associated with the Florida Tutoring Advantage. This course will open for registration in August, 2025.

Course 4: Advanced Tutoring in Reading is an advanced course designed specifically for reading tutors and will be required for all reading tutors associated with the Florida Tutoring Advantage. This course will open for registration soon.

Please note that application submissions received on or after July 21, 2025 will be enrolled on the following Monday after your submission date.
