  • The UF Lastinger Center for Learning is the administrator of the state of Florida’s Early Childhood System. Created in partnership with the Florida Department of Education’s Division of Early Learning, this online early childhood course provides practical teaching strategies, is standards-aligned and mastery-based.

Supporting Learning in Preschool Classrooms is an online, asynchronous course made up of five cycles designed for participants to:

    • Use their own lesson plans to implement and reflect on new strategies
    • Review case-study examples of real classrooms
    • Encourage the use of critical thinking skills
    • Incorporate feedback into classroom instruction

Eligible educators will earn a completion stipend of $125 and 1.0 IACET CEUs/10 professional learning hours for the Supporting Learning in Preschool Classrooms course.

The Supporting Learning in Preschool Classrooms course is free and currently only offered to VPK Providers in Florida. State funding determines course seat availability. Course seats are filled on a first come, first serve basis.

Note: We are currently transitioning our name from Flamingo Early Learning to Lastinger Learning, so the Flamingo Early Learning online courses have been rebranded to the Lastinger Learning Early Childhood Online Courses. You may see both names used during this rebranding process — thank you for your patience as we make this change!

  • It appears you do not meet the eligibility requirement needed to enroll in the Lastinger Learning Early Childhood Online Courses. In order to currently enroll in this course, you must be a VPK Provider on Probation.

  • For the next question, you will need to select your workplace county.

Once you select your workplace county in the first box, all of the eligible workplace names will then appear in the second box. Please search and select your workplace from that list.

NOTE: You may type into the empty field to search for your workplace.

If you do not see your workplace listed, then select MY WORKPLACE IS NOT LISTED as your workplace county. You will then be prompted to select your workplace county and then write in your workplace name.
